Hall of Fame Directory

The VUHoops Basketball Hall of Fame was formed in September 2010 to honor former players, coaches, trainers, referees, administrative staff and others who have made noteworthy contributions to the tradition of Villanova basketball.

The six initial inductees in 2010 were determined by a reader vote on Villanova’s All-Time starting team, considering over 50 candidates for that honor chosen from statistical leaders in points scored, PPG, rebounds, steals and assists.  Effective in 2011, the process for selecting inductees begins with the VUHoops Basketball Hall of Fame Nominating Committee, comprised of three VUHoops writers and two VUHoops readers. The Committee selects ten nominees for consideration for induction into the Hall of Fame.  To be eligible for nomination, candidates must have completed their Villanova career at least three years prior to nomination.  The Committee’s ten nominees are then presented on a ballot for election by the VUHoops readers.  Readers vote for the two nominees they feel are most worthy of induction.  The two receiving the most votes plus any other nominee receiving votes from at least 25% of the readers are inducted in that year’s class.
