History

Villanova Basketball began in 1920 with a 43-40 win over Catholic University. Since then, ‘Nova has a record of 1477-837.

The Wildcats beat Georgetown to win the National Championship in 1985. They have reached the Final 4 two other times in 1939 and 1971.

Villanova entered the Big East in 1980, the conference’s second year.
