Football is hoping for a big bounce-back after 2011′s terrible showing. Improves quarterback play will be necessary and they may need a young center to step up and play in place of Dan Shirey who could easily miss the season. That said, the offense looked good in spring practice and will only get better once the new freshmen arrive to provide the team with needed depth.

B.J. Johnson on 'Guts'

B.J. Johnson was a guard from Greensboro, North Carolina, who played for Villanova between 1999 and 2002, averaging 0.5 points per game for his career and less than 5 minutes per contest. While he didn’t light things up in Villanova’s Pavilion, he was a great competitor in Nickelodeon’s Extreme Arena, where he took home a piece of the famous “Aggro Crag.”

Dante Cunningham’s Memphis Grizzlies are matched up with fellow-alumnus, Randy Foye’s Los Angeles Clippers in the first round of the NBA playoffs. The Clippers guards and Blake Griffin have made the alley-oop an artform this season, earning the nickname, “Lob City.” Blake Griffin is one of the best dunkers in the professional ranks, but on Sunday night, he found himself on the wrong end of this one.

It was a heads-up play by the Villanova grad, who grabbed a rebound and quickly slammed it home over Griffin’s head, and it is an easy pick for the highlight reels.

They will participate in the Kerr Cup this weekend in Philadelphia, have a Big East Double Dual Regatta next weekend, and will participate in the Dad Vail Regatta and Big East championships next month.

On Monday night, he helped lead his team to a 92-77 victory over the Western Conference-leading Oklahoma City Thunder. In the game, Foye had 13 points, 2 rebounds and 2 steals while shooting 50% from the floor and 75% from beyond the arc. The highlight of the game, however, was a third-quarter steal that lead to a fast-break.

Foye takes the ball across the court and posterized the NBA’s leading shot-blocker, Serge Ibaka.

Wayns will enter his name for NBA draft consideration this summer. His offensive production will be missed as nobody had a better season for the Wildcats.

A group of six Villanova football players posted a video on YouTube titled “White Boy Cat Daddy,” directed by tight end Brennan Erbeznik. The video features wide receivers Joe Price and Chris Halcovage, linebacker Pat Haggerty and offensive linemen,Dan Shirey, and Josh Bucci, dancing to the song “Cat Daddy” by The Rej3ctz. It also features a sweet Spongebob, a few questionable Dougies and one hell of a neon jacket on Joe Price.

If highlight videos were the sole deciding factor on whether a kid is a potential Division I basketball player, the above is probably a lock to earn a scholarship someday — if the NCAA switches from real basketball to the Nerf™ version. He doesn’t show off any outside shooting skills in the video, but who doesn’t want to see these sort of high-flying dunks?
