Villanova Downs DePaul
#6 Villanova (13-1, 2-0) got 21 from Senior Scottie Reynolds to defeat DePaul 99-72 tonight from the Pavilion.
Freshman Maalik Wayns added 18 as the Wildcats opened up a 25-point lead at the half and never looked back.
‘Nova shot 55.4% from the floor (36-65) including 10-25 from distance (40%). The Wildcats out-rebounded the Blue Demons 38 to 21. Read more
Dealing with DePaul
Today at 8pm, the Villanova Wildcats will take to the Pavilion hardwood to face the DePaul Blue Demons (which may or may not be a rip off of Duke’s nickname). The game will be broadcast locally in Philadelphia on WPHL (17) and will be feature Villanova basketball alumnus John Celestand providing color commentary.
America’s largest Catholic university (by enrollment) is currently 7-7 on the season, with a somewhat notable win over St. Joes. DePaul has already lost to Pitt and Georgetown this season, it’s only two Big East games. They have now lost 21 consecutive Big East regular-season games. Villanova 74: :72 DePaul
Villanova took the lead on a Corey Stokes 3-Pointer with 11 minutes to go but couldn’t put the Blue Demons away until the final seconds as the Wildcats walked out of Chicago with a 74-72 win over DePaul.
‘Nova improves to 23-5 (11-4) and the loss extends DePaul’s losing streak to 15.
Dante Cunningham and Scottie Reynolds each had 18. The Coreys scored double digits as well; Fisher with 12, Stokes with 10.
Villanova has won 9 of their last 10 games and has gone 7-1 in the month of February.

Game 28: at DePaul
#10 Villanova takes its 22-5 record on the road to Chicago to take on DePaul. The Wildcats look to improve on their 10-4 Big East record against the Blue Demons who have yet to win a Conference game this season in their 14 opportunities.
Sophomore Forward Dar Tucker leads DePaul scoring 18.4 a game is one of the conference’s top scorers. Center Mac Koshwal is their #2 scorer at 13 points a game and their leading rebounder pulling down nearly 10 boards in each match. Read more

For our Friends and Alumni in the Chicago area… tickets to the February 25th Villanova game at DePaul have gone on sale today and can be purchased through Ticketmaster.
Prices for seats at AllState Arena vary from $20 to $100.
Filling in the Holes in the Schedule
We looked around and checked our opponents’ schedules to get some more details on our away games.
The games with Syracuse (Carrier Dome), Seton Hall (Prudential Center), USF (Sun Dome), Providence (Dunkin Donuts Center), West Virginia (WVU Coliseum), and Notre Dame (Joyce Center) are at the usual arenas.
The big note is that the UConn game will be at the XL Center in Hartford and not at Gampel Pavilion in Storrs.
