Villanova downs Ole Miss

Villanova got 21 from Scottie Reynolds as the Wildcats (5-0) beat Mississippi 79-67 to claim the Championship of the Puerto Rico Tipoff.

Junior Antonio Pena recorded his fourth Double-Double on the young season with his 17-point, 16-rebound effort. Corey Stokes was good for 18 additional points.

‘Nova was only up 4 points at the intermission, but expanded their lead with a 7-0 Scottie Reynolds run with 15 minutes to go in the second half.

In the sloppy game, ‘Nova recorded 22 turnovers; and Old Miss did them one better with 23. The Wildcats shot 27-65 from the field (41.5%) but out-rebounded the Rebels 45-33.
