Sources close to Duke Freshman Taylor King are saying that he is set to transfer. He averaged 5.5 ppg in 9 minutes a game this year.

The 6′6″, 230 Mater Dei (Santa Ana, CA) alumn has Villanova and Gonzaga as the two schools he is considering.

Now that the season is over, it’s time to put some effort into recruiting. Here is a list of our known “targets”, and their status.

Tyreke Evans- 6′5″, 205. American Christian (Aston, PA). 5*
Tyreke was the MVP of the McDonald All-America Game last week. His list is down to UConn, Memphis, Texas, and Villanova, but the reality is that it is between Memphis and Villanova with a hard lean to the Tennessee school. Evans will be visiting Villanova again in the upcoming few weeks. He is expected to make his announcement on April 16th.

VUhoops.com is back and physically from the Sweet 16 loss to Kansas. The Jayhawks made their open shots, put on an “alley-oop” clinic, and harassed the Villanova guards’ shots.

The Wildcats shot 3-17 (17.6%) from behind the arc, while KU shot 42%. Scottie Reynolds led the way with 11 points. Dante Cunningham and Shane Clark each added 10.

Villanova, the 12th Seed in the Midwest bracket, will take on the #1 seed Kansas Jayhawks. ‘Nova is 1-2 against KU. The Wildcats won the last meeting 83-62 on a snowy January saturday morning in 2005. The Jayhawks were ranked #2 at the time.

The Wildcats are 44-28 All-Time in the NCAA Tournament and 2-7 All-Time vs. #1 seeds. Villanova, along with West Virginia, Memphis, UNC and UCLA are the only programs to make the Sweet 16 in 3 of the last 4 years.

Currently #12 seeds are 0-13 in the NCAA Tournament against the #1 seed. The worst loss by #1 seed was by a #11 (when George Mason beat UConn in 2006).

: Colorado Ends Lady Wildcats’ Season

The Villanova Women’s team had a 7 point lead at halftime and a 2-point lead w/ 1:32 to go, but couldn’t hold on in the Sweet 16 of the Women’s NIT as they lost to Colorado 64-58.

: WNIT Lady Wildcats vs. Colorado

The Villanova Women’s Basketball team will be taking on the University of Colorado in the Sweet 16 of the WNIT tonight. Tip-off is set for 9p ET in Boulder.

The winner of the game will face TCU in the Regional Finals.

We initially reported that Tyreke Evans was going to announce his college decision at last night’s McDonald All-American game. Well, things have changed and the 6′6″ guard won’t be making the announcement until April 16th- the first day of the Spring signing period. Memphis, Texas and Villanova are the final 3 and T.E. is planning a final visit to the Main Line in the upcoming weeks.

In the Mickey D’s game, Tyreke scored 21 and was named the game’s MVP.
